Very good question. Yes it matters greatly. With higher leverage you can “use” more of your money rather then have it used up in margin. You can do the math. with $2,500 in a 400:1 leverage you can trade the exact same as the World Pro FX account in myfxbook. If you have 50:1 then you need 8 times the money to have the risk. Less money =more draw-down percentage and more money = less draw down percentage. It is not that it can’t be done with less money but you just have to live through greater percentage draw downs.
